I purchased Chelsea corner sofa-Left hand-Buffalo Brown. The item was delivered to me on 14 August 2023. I work for the South African Navy and due to the nature of my job I was on deployment during the time of delivery, therefore I was unable to thoroughly evaluate the product. Upon my return I thoroughly evaluated the and I observed that some part of the sofa the stitches were not properly done. Therefore, I lodged a return (Re: MRRN-XM7NN-54EQ) on 01 December 2023 and the item was collected on 03 December 2023.
On 05 December 2023, I received an email from Shivalyn.R (takealot.com) who claimed to having evaluated the product even. He sent me an photo attachment that I was clueless of and he did not address the area of my concern/complaint. I have since been phoning Takealot on numerous occasions, but I get taken from pillar to post. Eventually, I was told the same item I returned was going to be delivered back to me by their third party delivery company.
I wrote an email that I would not accept such an item considering that Shivalyn.R (takealot.com)also added some defective part that were not there when I returned the item. Takealot is refusing to exchange the item at this stage despite the pre-existing warranty which is bound to lapse in February 2024.
To date I have neither received a feedback from Takealot nor received the product. When I contact the call center I get told that the management will get back to me, but unfortunately no one calls. The matter has been escalated by different advisors, but I have not received any positive feedback.
