I contacted Vodacom's call centre to end a cell phone contract. It took several phone calls to achieve success. One consultant claimed that I had to give 30 days notice - which turned out to be untrue. The next consultant agreed to process my request of ending the contract. But upon ending the call I was sent an SMS confirming that I had just purchased a data bundle. Completely opposite of my request. A blatant criminal act. Phone calls are not recorded and they could not supply a reference number. I therefore recorded my next phone call. I clearly communicated that I wished to end the contract. In stead, they attempted to sell me another contract and was reluctant to process my request. I repeatedly reminded them that I was recording the phone call and upon my request they provided a ref number and finally conceded to my request
