I am currently registered for 5 year modules and 1 semester module of which 4 are added modules. The reason behind the 4 added modules is during this year around February/March the university delayed the release of supplementary exam results and therefore we were unable to register every single module. The staff at unisa advised us to register modules which we do not have outstanding results for then we will add the other modules once we have results. I registered 2 Modules as instructed and registered the remaining 4 year modules when the results were made available to us. Now the university is denying me funding for the added modules. I only received R1200 book allowance for only 2modules. I don't not have any other funding and im unable to purchase the prescribed books for the added modules. I need the full amount of the book allowance to be able to purchase all the books needed and any study material if needed. This has put me in a very critical mental state because im unable to focus on upcoming exams and tests which are due to be written in the first week of june. Im worried that I will not be able to perform my best because I do not have the correct study material to help me pass. I would like the university to allocate me the R5200 book allowance since the university is the reason why I could not register my modules in a singular registration instead of adding modules. These are year modules which cannot be registered in second semester only in first semester. I tried emailing the
[email protected] seven times but I have not received any response. The 5th May is the last day of nsfas disbursements. Please help me. I really need to buy my Prescribed books, I do not have any other funding but Nsfas. Where is the university expecting to get R4000 to purchase the rest of the books?
