My contract with my employer started in August of 2016 and my contract ended with my Employer on 10 March 2022. I logged a claim with the UIF office on 12 August 2022 and my claim has been sent to the assessor on 12 August 2022. My instruction was to do a Continuation of benefits, which I did, and it was sent to the Paymaster on 29 September 2022. I have as yet not been paid or contacted. I call the UIF Contact Center on a weekly basis, but my claim only gets escalated with no positive result.
Friday, 5 January 2023, I drove to your Somerset West office in the Western Cape as it is my nearest UIF office (120km away), but they were unable to help me as the line already had 246 people waiting. Whenever I call and ask to speak to a Supervisor, Team Leader or Manager, I either get put on hold until the call dies, or I get told they are in a meeting. They have been in a meeting for 4 months...

Today I spoke with Madinal who said her teamleader would call me. It is 19h01 and obviously no phonecall.

It is 08 February 2023 and the UIF management is still in a meeting. No amount of phoning, visiting or emailing helps. You get to the call center who "escalates" the issue and that's where it has been for 6 months...

I have been waiting for my UIF payout for 6 months. Every day I get a different story and my case called me twice promising a resolution withing 14 days, it has been 247 890 days!

It is 6 April 2023 and I have not received payment from the UIF yet. I submitted my claim on 12 August 2022. Everyday a different story, excuse, form to complete, or escalation. No one has any interest in solving this claim. I even had someone phoning me as a Paymaster and said I should pay R1900.00 into their bank account and she will make sure I get my funds... I reported this to Mr Cornelius Booysen (never heard from him again) and Mr Gumbi also never called me back regarding my claim.

7 months ago I claimed - I have still not received a cent.
