I applied for unemployment benefits March 2021, I received some payment 2 November 2021 I make daily follow up with the call centre which escalates my enquiry but nothing. It's been 10 months, UIF department should be ashamed how they treat people, in the media promises are made but not realised.
Still no response from UIF or payment, it's been 11 months, I phone daily and every day there is a different excuse, today I phoned 4 times and I got cut-off every time. They have technical difficulties and experiencing high call volumes. My advice to the UIF please pay the people or give feedback, then you will not experience high call volumes!
Another unsuccessful attempt and another excuse, I am in contact with the call centre every second day and the excuses is out of this world.
Patiently awaiting good news.
It is officially a year later, I have received confirmation from the UIF call centre that I do have credit days that need to be paid out to me..... But receiving payment.... they can only escalate to the admin department that I enquired about payment. Patiently waiting maybe when I do my follow up call there might be news!
Another week and no payment or feedback from admin department.
Call centre will escalate again. I requested that a team leader (Lungile) from the call centre call me back with feedback, but NOTHING!
Still no response from UIF it seems that the law only apply if you need to pay contributions, but you as an employee that is going through a very stressful period of looking for work, stressing about how you will survive and if you will receive any work is being demoralized by people that is with holding the one thing that can make it a little bit better. PLEASE UIF GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!

According to call centre agent I will not receive my payment for my 4 months that I was unemployed last year March - July 2021 because I am now employed. SO PAYMENT PROCESS AT THE UIF IS DELAYED UNTIL YOU ARE EMPLOYED THEN THEY DO NOT HAVE TO PAY YOU....... I phoned the call centre to be told that the Paymaster closed my continuation of benefits the 31st March 2022 because I did an appeal in January 2022, I asked how can they do that and not notify me, she became extremely rude and kept on interrupting me and even starting talking loader everytime I tried to say something, I said to her I called and the cost of the call is paid by me, she said login to Ufiling everything is stated there. Then she put the phone down in my ear.
I phoned again and the next lady said it is closed by the paymaster because I will be receiving my payment any day now...... Who do you believe???? I am a UIF practitioner and I have been doing payroll for more than 30 years, I am shocked to my core, this is inhumane treatment!

Another week have passed. No communication from UIF, the paymaster closed my continuation of benefits, which usually means payment will happen..... But nothing! The Call centre have not received any feedback also and this is for enquiring for more than a year!
Still waiting for resolve, payment, statement of account or any communication from UIF claims......
Dissatisfied and totally lost faith in Department of Labour......
They are totally unfair, I pray that they start working or else it will just be another goverment department that is bankrupt and stealing employees contributions.
This is so sad...
