On the 20th January 2020 I was involved in a horrific accident. I was hospitalized for about 3 months. I was told by my employer that I must apply for UIF. Due to lockdown I was unable to submit for UIF. Tried online but was blocked. When officers were open I went to UIF in Maponya Mall. There they gave me the run around saying that forms are not filled correctly. When all my forms where correct went again to the offices. This time I was told the form is changed. I had to have the form filled all over again. We went up and down for 6 times always something was wrong with the forms. When finally everything was correct I was told that the system is rejecting my claim as it is longer than 6 months. I managed to get an email address for assistance but no response. Till date no assistance. I need my money as I'm unemployed.

Hi Roshnie. I am Masede from the Department of Employment and Labour. I work as a media monitoring officer and I have picked up your complaint. If I may ask, have you ever visited the Department of Employment and Labour to enquire about your claim? If not, please visit your nearest office for assistance. In the meantime I will escalate your complaint to relevant officials.

Hi Masede, I have been to the labour department. I was told that my claim has been rejected by the system as it was longer than 6 months old. I was told that they cannot assist me any further.
