I was gifted takealot vouchers up to the value of R8000 by a colleague to shop for the Christmas. After redeeming the vouchers, I bought a phone for my mum up to the value of R3000 which has been delivered since the 30th of Dec. Then I further went and bought other personal items with the remainder of the balance applied to my account and takealot has long deducted up to the value of R5,443 since the 24th of Dec for the rest of my order but refused to ship my ordered items. I further went ahead and complained to their service department and I was asked to provide my ID for verification before they could ship the items which I provided. And a day later I was told they are currently investigating what I don't know because all I did was redeem vouchers gifted to me.
And then they started interrogating me on how I got the vouchers, where, so on and so forth which I simply explained to them that I was gifted those vouchers. Next they requested I produce the invoice/receipt with which the vouchers were purchased to clear up the issue and ship my order and I had already made my colleague aware of the situation as well and she was glad to help by providing me with the invoices with which she purchased them which I have also forwarded to takealot only for me to notice today that my order has been cancelled and no refund was issued back to me. Then I further asked why I'm not getting a refund and their response was that I should provide them with a Bank Proof of Payment for them to be able to issue me a refund but where I'm I gonna get a Bank Proof of Payment for vouchers that were gifted to me. I had earlier complained that they weren't paying attention to detail and this just confirms it all over that they are being negligent and didn't even do a proper follow up as I was communicating to a different agent every day who probably didn't read the complain log before responding. So this is my complaint as I really don't know what else to do from here.
