Takealot - Takealot refund issue

UPDATE: More than one month later, complete silence from TakeALot. No replies to mails, telephone calls etc. I attempted to delete my account, a pop up shows a link will be forwarded to my e-mail address - nothing. I've tried numerous times. No refund or credit to my account received. They have just vanished off the face of the earth.
On the 7th of September 2023, I purchased a product from Takealot.
Tested it and was disappointed. On the 9th of September, I requested a return, which was declined on the 12th because I had opened the package. After many many phone calls and too many e-mails, they eventually advised I chose an incorrect return reason from the drop-down menu. I should amend it. They advised that they cannot keep the unit there and amend the reason on my behalf; that the unit will be sent back to me, I should log another return. I didn't understand it, because nothing would have changed (the packaging would still be opened). But I did what I was told. The product was delivered again, I logged a return again and it was declined ... again. Agents drop calls purposefully, it is extremely difficult to get hold of anyone, every e-mail is from a different agent with a different reason and what I should do next.
So then I ended up with an agent who told me I should have said product is defective. And only then can I get a refund. What does Takealot do? They order a replacement unit! From the start, I asked for a refund, not a replacement unit. So, I asked them to cancel. They can't. I have to wait for it to be shipped, only then can I cancel. Their process is time consuming and impractical. Sooooo, I wait for the product to reach the courier facility and they cancel it for me. I have it in writing that the order is cancelled and I will get refunded. Couple of days later, my online profile reads that the product is received back by the warehouse and the return concluded. What? Return concluded, but no refund? More than 50 e-mails and almost as many telephone calls later, still no refund. They do what they want and get away with it. They purposefully deceived me.
