I returned a Chefs knife purchased from Takealot.com because it was shoved into a Cleaver knifes box. I had to open the product before I could see that the magnetic gift box in which it came was not meant for a chefs knife but for a cleaver (the form-fitting sponge inside the box was for a Cleaver and not a chefs knive) this means that I cannot gift the item as it does not fit into the giftbox it came with. My return was rejected aparently because the product was opend. When I opened the product I realised that it was in the wrong packaging/giftbox. I immediately logged a return on the app and waited for Takealot to colect the product. I left the knife inside the box and rewrapped it with clingfilm to keep it secure during transport. They collected the item on Monday 20 November. The reason for return is constantly misstated and changed by Takealot. I logged the return on 18 November 2023. I have been calling Takealot since Wednesday morning 22 November at 07h30 explaining the same as above. I have asked numerous times for takealot management to contact me and have completely been ignored. I have been lied to and treated unfairly to the extreme. At this point in time NO ONE can tell me where the knife is, where the process is and I have not been refunded. Takealot.com has taken my money and the product and they refuse to try and resolve the situation.
