The above order (AVL2F floor standing Hi Fi stereo system) was placed on Thursday 4 July and was delivered the following day on a Friday. Everything was fine with the order and it met my expectations besides the fact that the remote was not working. I tried everything including flipping the battery and ultimately bought a new battery to replace the one it came with but it still did not work. I contacted AVL on the number they supplied on the manual and they referred me back to takealot.

I then logged a return with takealot and the driver arrived the following day. I explained to the driver that i was happy with the product and that i only had a problem with the remote, after he made a call to the office, he informed that they had to take the whole thing and not just the remote.

A week later it was delivered but by then i was not home and only came back 2 days later. When i unpacked it, it was in a terrible and disgusting state, the speakers where dirty and scratched with chipped coners almost showing wood, it was all dusty and to top it all up, the remote was still not working.

I then logged another return and asked for the product to be exchanged as it was damaged by takealot. It was again picked up the following day. A week went by and yesterday 01 August 2024, it was again delivered in the very same state. I refused to accept it and sent it back with the driver.

Takealot, kindly replace what i paid for with my hard earned money or simply refund my account. If you are not going to replace, please do not credit my takealot account, pay me back my money so i can go shop elsewhere.
Kindly treat this as a matter of urgency, it has been almost a month now
