SMEG - Defective cooker

I’ve used SMEG for years and have always felt that they were excellent products
My previous cooker lasted for over 10 years unfortunately i now very much regret deciding to get a new one.
When I decided it was time to get a new cooker I didn’t even think twice I bought another SMEG cooker and was expecting the same quality as my previous one.
That was sadly not the case.

My first disappointment was discovering that although the dimensions were the same as my previous cooker the interior was considerably smaller.
This was a minor disappointment , I assumed the interior would be the same and I didn’t think to check the dimensions inside..
One month in we notice that the central burner was making a strange noise and spluttering.
I called the service dept. They informed me that one cannot operate the central burner without the the wok attachment.
So now my “fast” central burner is no longer quite as versatile. Fine . although it still makes that noise and splutters even with the wok plate.

A few months later June 2022 the fuse in the oven blows. Its not even a year.
Now a few months later Late Sept 2022 the thermostat blows too.( I’ve been told this is due to load shedding which I don’t buy for 2 reasons
My previous oven weathered much more load shedding with out batting an eyelash and both times this oven has blown it was working just fine and stopped - no power surge.)

I was charged a call out fee and service tried to charge me for the thermostat. I had to resend my receipt( 3rd time in a year) to prove it was in warranty
Tried following up but got no reply until i called and was told that the stock “just came in”.
I've now been without an oven for almost 10 days.
It is obvious that this oven is defective and has been from day one or the other alternative is that SMEG’s quality has taken a nose dive.
