Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the recent experiences I have had with Ryobi products and customer service. As a loyal Ryobi power tools customer for about 30 years, I have always defended your brand when others criticized it. However, my recent experiences have left me questioning my loyalty.
I have issues with 2 products
• battery-operated drilling machine
• impact drill
On Christmas, I received a battery-operated drilling machine from my wife, which unfortunately did not last a day. Additionally, while working on a DIY project at home, the new impact drill I purchased in January failed to work after removing just six tiles, lasting only about an hour. Both of these tools were returned to the supplier, Buco, for resolution.
Despite multiple visits from the Ryobi representative to Buco over the past three months, the impact drill, which was less than two weeks old, has not been replaced or collected. Furthermore, my Christmas gift was taken by the Ryobi representative for repair about a month ago and has neither been repaired nor returned, and I have received no response regarding its status.
I was present when the salesperson contacted Ryobi to request a replacement for the impact drill, which lasted only a day. Ryobi declined the request, promising instead to come and collect the drill. However, this promise has not been fulfilled.
I am extremely frustrated with the lack of resolution and communication regarding these issues. As a long-time customer, I expect better quality and service from Ryobi. I kindly request that you address these issues promptly by replacing the faulty impact drill and ensuring the battery-operated drilling machine is repaired or replaced.
I am also concerned that Ryobi may be bypassing its policies to avoid repairing or replacing newly purchased items. Is this a strategy employed by Ryobi, or is there another reason for the lack of resolution in my case?
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.
Sincerely,
Antonie Goosen
