Glenmorangie - Darkish colour of glenmorangie the accord bourbon & sherry cask

My son had gifted my Glenmorangie bottle of Whisky recently when he came form London.
He had also gifted my Glenfidich 18 years, Glenlivet also.
On Friday this week, my friend invited me for dinner. I took with me this bottle of Glenmorangie.
After pouring drinks in 2 glasses, he told me that colour of whisky is very dark compared
to standardar Glenmorangie. He immediately showed his Glenmorangie whisky bottles which had
light colour whisky. Late we switched over to his whisky. This was an embarrassing situation for me.
I felt I was let down by your company.
