To whom this may concern

We are pensioners and booked a flight on one of your aircraft for a flight to OR Tambo Airport in Kempton Park.

We stay 180 kilometers from the airport , was at the airport before the required time and when we got to the check in counter we were told that my wife will have to be on standby as the flight is overbooked . Imagine the emotions when she was told that she will probably have to wait for an afternoon flight if there is no seat for her on this specific flight . Eventually she was allowed on the plane just to learn that there was about 7 empty seats on the flight !

I understand that you do the overbooking thing to make sure that you have a full plane and to be able to sel your tickets at a lower price. What is totally unacceptable is that your staff at the check in desk does not have the proper information and that is not due to their incompetence but a flaw in your systems. Imagine the abuse these poor ladies must be exposed to just because Flysafair wants to make money .

People who book on your flights may have connecting flights to an overseas destinations , what happens to them when you decide that the plane is now full enough and the passenger must wait for the next available seat . It seems that you want to force your passengers to do an online check in because then you can charge an additional fee.

You have a record for always being on time and I am sure you are proud of it but I do not appreciate the treatment my wife received on Saturday .

I think I have said enough .
