I realized that I had forgotten my card and had to use the scan to pay system. The system seemed to decline the payment and I had to make means to obtain the cash and pay so I can leave the site.
A few minutes later I notice that the funds have been deducted from my account, but the transaction indicated that it was pending. I went back to the garage and was told that the transaction didn't go through, and that I must give it some time and it will automatically reverse. A few days later the transaction went through and was no longer pending and I went to the garage again. I was given the Managers contact number who wasn't able to assist because she was on leave, so I had to wait until 02 April 2024. She forwarded an email to FNB to query the transaction and there has been no feedback up until today 13 April.
I do not think that it is fair that the inconvenience caused by the systems is affecting me regardless of whether I had my card or not. Scan to pay should not have been presented to me as an option if there are no means to effectively deal with related challenges
