We have a complain about water billing which is extremely high. There has been no visible water meter at our home from which we could compare the water usage, however the water reading on the statements ranges between 40000 to 60 000 litres a month. We went to complain twice in May and June at the office about the water metre and the crazy billings. The municipal employee promised that after the water metre has been installed, the transactions shall be re-adjusted and issue rectified and that has not been the case. Water metre got installed at the beginning of July 2022. The readings from the water metre installed was 11 984 by 03/08/2022 but on this month's statement received, they read 52000 a difference of whooping 40 016. The billings for water consumption only is over R1200.00 and sewage for over R400 for July month. Can the municipality explain why such high water billing especially when water is also closed daily for the whole of Phola location community during the day.
