On 28 march 2024 I noted on the DSTV app that my deduction for April 2025 amount to R 956,00 rand.
Since this is an increase in excess of 16% (despite DSTV claiming in the media that the increase for DSTV Premium is only 5,7%, I immediately requested an explanation. On 2 April, after various follow-ups, I got a short to the point response from the CEO Office to indicate a breakdown of subscription and decoder insurance to make up the R 956.00. NO explanation or denial of the 16,27% increase. I refer the issue to the CEO, Mawela, but have up to date NOT had a response. In the meantime I cancelled my subscription and they accepted this without query and/ or trying to change my mind.
DSTV is obviously fully aware that it is of NO use to complain to ICASA so they do as they wish without any consequences.
