I have made an application to change my daughter's Surname in May 2022, but nothing is happening, I went to home affairs several times and I was told that my application was send to Pretoria for processing and a year and few months later nothing has changed, so I have called the department of home affairs call center several times on 0800601190 to do a follow up on my application.
the first lady I spoke to assured me it will be processed within 7 working days, after 7 days I called another one told me that they need copies of the forms I completed at home affairs, I sent the forms to them, I must check again if my application has been processed after 2 weeks.
now when I call the department, I am told that my matter has been escalated to the processing department I must call after 10 days and every time I call, I speak to different agents who tells me the same story, my issue has been escalated how long should I wait until my issue is resolved? I have submitted all the required documentation, but I am not getting any assistance.
our department is falling us, and our lives get stuck because we can get help anywhere. today was even worse because the lady who assisted me sounded very rude and impatient with me.
